Typically during the fall semester we travel to two tournaments and host one right here at Penn State! The locations of the two away tournaments may vary, but the one we host is called Fall Phling and is usually in mid October. The fall season is more laid back (but still competitive!), and mainly focused on teaching the game and connecting as a team.
During the spring semester, we typically travel to five tournaments. The first three tournaments of the semester determine our national ranking, and the last two are sectionals and regionals, in which we compete for a bid to the national championship. The spring semester is more competitive, serious, and focused (But still fun!). While the weather does not allow us to be outside, we usually have two conditioning sessions, a lifting session, and one indoor practice per week.
In March of 2016, we had the opportunity to compete in Centex, a highly competitive tournament in Austin, Texas. While we were there, we also competed in a dance competition and got third place! Check out our video!!
